How to do a Report of Sale or Renew Tabs Online

 

THE LAW: ALL Vehicles and Boats when sold must be reported to the Washington State Dept of Licensing within 5 days. Until you report the sale, you could be liable for large towing and storage fees and worse, still be financially liable for car accidents and crimes. You are still the vehicle owner unless and until either the buyer transfered title or you reported the sale. The only way you know for sure is if you do report the sale as "buyers are liers." Do not ask for a vehicle to be removed from your insurance policy until AFTER you have reported the sale! Reporting the sale can be done online or by going to a Dept. of Vehicle Licensing office.
